21st April- Tourism

What a wonderful day! Today we have practised natural and cultural tourism.
We have started our trip in Los Millares. Los Millares is one of the wonders of Neolithic Western Europe. The main site is that of a Neolithic walled Citadel and passage tomb cemetery ), but there are 12 orbital forts and at least two other necropleis on adjoining hilltops. As a visitor centre this is exemplary. There is a small building with great displays of reconstructed pottery, models of the tombs and information boards. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable ... and it's free! There are very good information boards around the main site and at the forts and, to cap it all, there is a full-size reconstruction of several tombs and a section of the outer defensive wall.

Then we have directed us to the Alpujarras, where we have visited a pottery shop in a typical place, Alhabia. There we have learn a bit about pottery.
After visiting an oil mill in Canjayar and eating in a typical restaurant of the Alpujarras we have have visited a very beautiful place, Laujar de Andarax. In there you can find the fountain-head of the river Nacimiento. It is a shadowy place with lots of waterfalls.
Bejar is also a nice town to visit.

Afterwards we have come back through lots of greenhouses to our hotel.
See you tomorrow.
